Meet K&K- The unlikely story of sisters-in-law combining nature and science

Hi, it's Katie here. Kristina and I are sisters-in-law, but we never planned to start a company together. It all started with one, random, crazy idea...

See, I suffered from eczema for most of my life. My skin always felt angry and itchy. It was embarrassing. Doctors prescribed steroids, but the eczema never went away.

Eventually, I took matters into my own hands and started making my own skincare products. Over 7 years, I made over 100 different formulations for myself! I wish I could say they all worked perfectly and I knew EXACTLY what I was doing...But that's not the case.

I actually messed up pretty bad a few times. I even grew fungus on my face once! 😂 (Maybe I'll tell you that story another time.) Eventually, I learned how to formulate products that actually worked! (No fungus necessary… haha!)

                              Long story short:

I cured my eczema... AND the cystic acne I'd had in my 20’s and 30’s.
Once I got confident with my formulations, I started giving them to other people as gifts. Since Kristina was my sister-in-law, I gave one to her… and she loved it!

So one day, I invited her over to make products with me.
Kristina was a scientist at the University of New Mexico for 10+ years, so for every ingredient we used, she would ask...

"Why are you using this ingredient?"

... and then she would run from the kitchen to the living room, get on her laptop, go to PubMed, and look up studies about each ingredient.
After a while, she looked at me and asked:

"Did you know all of these ingredients have science behind them?"

Turns out, the ingredients I was using were all anti-inflammatory and had antioxidant properties... which is what made them work so well.
Then Kristina gave me a "mad scientist" look and said:

"OMG I KNOW OF A MOLECULE!"
(And yes. That's ACTUALLY what she said)

"It has the most impressive anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties I've ever seen in my entire career. What would happen if we used it in your products?"

"Girl, I have no idea. You're the scientist. Not me. Remember!?"
That's what I thought -- not what I said.

Instead, I told Kristina I was interested. I wanted to see what would happen if we combined this powerful molecule with my products -- which already worked on their own!

So we decided we had to get our hands on this "miracle molecule."
We started making products with it and were amazed by the results we saw.
The results were so far beyond what we expected, we couldn’t believe our eyes.
BUT...

No one had ever used this molecule in a skincare product before...

So we ran controlled tests on ourselves and over 100 volunteers for an entire year. (It worked on wrinkles, stretch marks, and even acne scars too.)
Turns out, it has 10x more anti-inflammatory and 6x more antioxidant properties than resveratrol -- one of the leading skincare ingredients on the market.

We named it BioVer-X

We're still at the beginning of our entrepreneurial journey, and we have a long road ahead of us.

But we've never been more excited. And we're so glad you're on this journey with us. 🙂

Thanks for letting me share our story with you. I hope it helps you understand us better and gives you a little more background on how our products help with your skincare goals.

I was also looking to find your ingredients for your products to make sure that it doesn’t have anything in it that some of my clients are allergic to.
