Dr. Kristina Trujillo, who spent over a decade as a biochemistry professor at the University of New Mexico, had come across a molecule that was to change her life. Similar to resveratrol, an ingredient derived from red grapes and often found in high end, anti-aging products, this molecule was even more powerful, with six times more anti-oxidant properties and ten times more anti-inflammatory properties than resveratrol itself. Dr. Trujillo immediately recognized this as an exciting breakthrough; the challenge was how best to maximize its potential.
The answer came when Dr. Trujillo's sister-in-law, Katie, invited her to come and help with the line of skincare products she was putting together. Based on years of research and experimentation, Katie had created different oil blends that had successfully cured her own skin conditions. That is when Dr. Kristina really began to understand and appreciate the scientifically proven properties of these oils. They could be anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, calming, energizing, healing... and that is when an idea suddenly occurred to her. What might happen if Katie's products were to be combined with the molecule she was so excited about?
The rest, as they say, is history. After extensive research and impressive results obtained from well over 100 volunteers, it was abundantly evident that this revolutionary skincare product worked to dramatically reduce the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks and scars. It even had a visible impact on psoriasis, eczema and rosacea.
Just one product, the BioVer-X™️ Enhanced Antioxidant Serum, contains the molecule, for which a cosmetic patent is currently pending. Produced in a certified organic facility in Taos, it is all natural, without any harsh preservatives. "Most cosmetic products are water-based," explains Kristina, "and since water goes rancid over time, they need harsh, artificial preservatives to extend their shelf life. Our products are oil-based, with natural preservatives like vitamin E, and have a shelf life of around three years."
Good news spreads fast and estheticians and spas are now incorporating BioVer-X™️ Enhanced Antioxidant Serum into their treatments, along with acupuncturists specializing in acupuncture face lifts.
Hollywood is on board as well; the company's products were among those selected to be given to celebrities at the 2020 Oscars and Sundance Film Festival Eco-Luxe Lounge, both held early this year. Fortunate timing, for sure, especially as BioVer-X™️ is exclusively available through the K&K website, so it can safely be obtained without leaving home.
It is worth noting that, before K&K came along, resveratrol (the ingredient BioVer-X™️ is derived from) was considered one of the most potent antioxidants on the market.
Luxury skincare companies regularly charge up to $500 for products containing resveratrol. Given that BioVer-X™️ is both substantially more potent and substantially less expensive, New Mexico may soon have the distinction of being recognized as the birthplace of the next revolution in the world of cosmetics.
The K&K line currently consists of five unique products and, with winter fast approaching, the After Shower Body Serum is another good investment. "Harsh winter air can draw moisture out of the skin, leaving it dry and flaky", explains Katie. "Creams and lotions really don't help, since they just sit on top of the skin and don't penetrate." The After Shower Body Serum, however, does. Consisting of a combination of several premium carrier and essential oils, it is best applied on wet skin, replicating the skin's natural oil barrier and sealing in the water, leaving the skin hydrated, silky and soft. Strong enough to heal dry skin, and gentle enough for baby skin, the Body Serum can also be used for shaving, which makes it effective for the entire family, as well as a great gift.
And exciting news! Kristina and Katie will be interviewed by world-famous supermodel, Kathy Ireland, for her show "Modern Living with Kathy Ireland®" to be aired on WE tv in December. Check the website for further updates.
